Womans 2-panel huipil, hand-woven
on back-strap loom. Colorful machine embroidery of flowers and
butterflies around neck and on shoulder medallions. Panels are selvage
finished on one side and hemmed on other. On selvage side, one panel is
noticeably longer than the other (but could be hemmed to even length). Nice
randa between panels on one side, other side opened to allow nursing (easily
closed). Nice velvet trim around neck. Sides are also open (easily
closed. Base material is cotton and shows light even wear without spotting.
In good used condition.

Almolonga cotton skirt (corte) with
beautiful jaspe design and nicely finished
d horizontal randa. The skirt has been opened at the verticle randa so it
forms a long cloth rather than a tube skirt. I like the combination of
colors in the cloth, several shades o blue, greens and then a subtle pink
and peach.
Condition: Good used with light wear.

beautiful jaspe design and nicely finished
single horizontal randas of a newer "plaid" design.
Handwoven on a floor loom. Color is unusual, showing the trend away
from traditional "blue" based material to a color palette of the woman's
preference. Includes some brillante (metallic like threads) currently
liked by many Mayan women. About an 8" portion of the randa has only
the brown color (my guess is the woman ran out of the gold thread). It
works and I didn't notice it at all until I took the picture. But
wanted to make sure you know about it.
Condition: Good used with light wear
especially along the selvage edge. The pictures only show a
representative portion of the skirt. Its hard to find space for taking the
