- Incredible and beautiful menagerie of
plants and animals on this huipil made Lucia's adult daughter Manuela. On a
quick glance I see butterflies, quetzals, deer. tree of life, corn and even
a few scorpions. Very nice crocheted work around the neckline and
armholes. Ends of panels are somewhat uneven length which could be easily
hemmed to even out length. Sides of panels are open so can be worn as a
poncho or easily stitched together. In good to very good condition
with light wear and fading on the lower black base material.

a
beautiful somewhat "older style" huipil with red cotton base and a
variety of geometric designs including lightning and corn among others brocaded into
the weaves of the three panels. Panel lengths are somewhat
uneven with one side selvage finished and the other fringed. Acrylic
and cotton threads are used in the design. In very good used condition.
Sides are open so can be used as a poncho or easily stitched closed.

This 3-panel huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom and features
the blues that Santa Catarina Palopo is well-known for in the 1990's and
later on a black base. It is woven with geometric designs.
Sides are open, but can be easily stitched shut. The brocade is probably of
acrylic and shows some even wear and a few threads. Panel ends are selvage finished on one side and
fringed on other. In relatively good used condition

coloring in purple base material, may be due to different thread lots or
uneven fading.

- Nice used huipil
with images of quetzals, butterflies and other geometric designs brocaded
into the weave. Half of panels are fringed others are selvage finished
(could be easily hemmed to even out). Green with celeste blue (light
blue) stripes in the base material. Base material is cotton. Finished
neckline fits over my 22" head. Sides are open so can be worn as a poncho or
can be easily stitched and closed. In good used condition, a few loose
threads that could be trimmed.

the weaves of the three panels. Base material is a burgundy red. Finished neckline. Panel lengths are somewhat
uneven with 3 panels side selvage finished and the 3 other fringed. Sides
are closed. Acrylic

even wear and fading and a few loose threads.

turkeys, deer, butterflies, tree of life and more on this finely brocaded
huipil
that was made on a back-strap loom. Half of panels are fringed
others are selvage finished (could be easily hemmed to even out). Nice
finishing around the neckline. Sides are open so can be worn as a poncho or
can be easily stitched and closed. In very good used condition.
I'd say its in excellent condition except that the fringed side of one of
the 3 panels the weave is a little uneven. I doubt if most people
would even notice it.

In moderately good used condition with some wear, light fading a few light
spots. Major concern is one hole in the bottom are of the base
material. A dime shows the size and location.
