These are
Guatemalan hand-painted naive oil paintings on canvas made by Pedro
Sosof from Santiago Atitlan in the Solola Department of
Guatemala. I have known Pedro since he was about 10. He now
has two children and works hard to care for them and keep them in

The Artist Pedro

of his daughter Melisa. He spends a lot of time caring for his
children and helping them with their studies. He finds time to
paint after they are asleep. |

Sadly Pedro is no longer painting. He finds he can make more
money for his family by sewing bags (Click
to see bags) and selling them and his friends paintings in
