Guatemala Mayan Jaspe Skirt or Corte Material - I am lumping multicolored jaspe (ikat) skirts or corte from several villages together on this page. Some I know where they are from, others I am less certain.  Much (but not all) of the jaspe material from which corte are made in one of two primary jaspe foot-loom weaving centers (Totonicapan and Salcaja) and woven in a style favored by women from a specific village.  There may still be treadle-loom weavers in that village as well that weave the skirt material.  Also, while women wear their villages "traditional" skirt on festival days, they may choose whatever jaspe skirt that catches their eye on other days. It gets confusing categorizing these skirts by village.  Some of the villages that tend to wear what I am lumping as jaspe skirts are:
